I purchased the QM8 last week and have been following you on your comparisons against the QM8 and I am satisfied with my decision, I did purchase the U8H for my bedroom and the 75in QM8 for living room.
After seeing this video I am satisfied with my purchases
Thanks Steve

Great comparison! I’d almost definitely say QM8 for movies and shows, U8K for gaming, but not having local dimming control or a ATSC 3.0 tuner is just so lame. It still amazing to me how no TV has it all. Every TV is missing one or two things that another one has. If Samsung got Dolby Vision they would take the market. If Sony got good with gaming and lowered their prices a bit they would take the market. LG has come as close as you can get for having it all for performance and value but only IF you’re going OLED, and would be even better if they moved off of that outdated remote.

I bought a Hisense U8K 75" TV about 2 weeks ago. Last week, the TV received an update that took about 30 minutes to load and install.
On my 3 previous TVs, updates took between 2 and 5 minutes. Towards the end of the update on the Hisense, we were asked to close it and open it again to complete the update. After this huge update, I noticed that the TV had a better picture and more localized sound. I really like this TV. It's easy to set up.
I suggest you wait for this update before testing the U8K. It would give future and current users a better idea of the quality of this TV.
Thank you for your hard work! ! !

Thank you very much for doing this comparison! Previously, I was set on going with the Hisense U8K. However, after seeing the picture quality of the two next to each other... I've changed my mind. I'm going with the TCL

I’ve been pouring over YouTube TV reviews this week and have to say I like yours best! Thoroughly informative and spoken in a way that even viewers new to todays TVs can understand. Great work, thanks! I’ve seen several reviewers indicate that their TCL developed an area of black lines, on the bottom of the right screen. Your reviews have convinced me that I still want a 65 inch qm8.Thanks again!

Great video as usual, tough choice between the two. I like that the Hisense has 3.0 tuner for over the air and that you have more control over the settings. Thank you for the comparison.

I love your accent. I just love it. It's a 10-bit, VRR-enabled, 120hz no blooming accent in TV terms.

Great comparison. I want to point out a few things though. The TCL’s dimming zones are controlled by the local contrast setting which you will find under the brightness settings. If you want to have access to all the settings while gaming on the TCL you will have to turn off gaming mode. You will still have access to HDR, VRR and ALLM and the picture mode won’t be stuck on gaming mode you can change it to whatever you like.

I went with the QM8 and I love it. Having a ps5, Xbox and soundbar, the dedicated earc port was a necessity for me.

I checked out your review and comparison videos of the Hisense U8K, and I’m impressed. Your assessments are very detailed and informative. I especially appreciated your take on the gaming features, something that a lot of reviewers gloss over, or ignore altogether.

I’m looking for a replacement for my 55” TCL R646, which I use as a pc monitor, as well as tv viewing. I really wish that TCL had made a 55” version of the QM8. So it looks as if the U8K may be my choice, especially as it has much better gaming features, and a lot more local dimming zones.

Btw, subbed! 👍🏾

Great comparison! Thanks for this, was anxiously waiting for you to do this matchup. I think I'll go with the QM8 but they are both so well matched tbh. Could go with either and be happy for most people.
