Back then in my platoon, we had a fat Sgt who couldn’t keep up in our morning run. I called him out and he threatened to NJP me but my GySgt who was also in the run told the fat Sgt he couldn’t because I was right. That was the greatest day of my time in the USMC.

I remember counting the days when I was in the Navy. When you get to 99 days to go, you're a Double-Digit Midget. That's when you have to be extra careful not to F..k up your run for the exit. Too close to freedom to make any mistakes!

Military life is such a mixed bag. Leadership is everything and it will make or break a soldiers first contract. Can only speak a little bit for the Army, but I can attest that you’ll meet some of the best and worst people while in. Was blessed to have some great NCOs during my time but the nasty ones will stick out. If they do their jobs right and actually maintain solid communication they can be a big help when taking advantage of tuition assistance or other benefits but even then a lot of the time it has to be you that initiates the conversation first.

Wow a true slice of life in the Marine corps. I was having my room inspected and the sergeant was putting his finger behind the mirror that was mounted on the door. He was checking for dirt behind it. A centimeter space between the mirror and door.

We told him we didn’t clean back there. He puts his finger in there and it snaps off the wall and falls, shattering. He jumps back and walks out.
