I started keto way of eating and intermittent fasting and went 14 months without a migraine. Longest time since I was 12. Worked for most I’ve talked to as well. Sugar and carbs are biggest triggers

Migraine Diary! Eat normally & write down what you ate up to 12 hrs before. Helps so much to eliminate, for my mom it was green peppers 🫑. Any kind of wine (sulfates or tannins) are my Achilles. MUCH worse during high estrogen levels during perimenopause.

I have suffered with migraines for thirty years. I have been given a whole load of medications with a whole load of side effects. During the past year, I have a migraine every day. I work from home, so I see a client, go to bed, get up for the next client, go to bed again. I was not a fan of excluding any good group, so as last desperate attempt I tried the vegan diet last week. I have not had a migraine since. 😆😆☺Thank you somuch Dr Barnard. This has given me my life back

Thank you Dr. Barnard for your useful information and important research. I didn’t have any specific food allergies but a whole food plant based diet cut my migraines down 75%. and has been life changing. My migraines always were associated with nausea and/or vomiting. I am glad you made the distinction with a tension headache. I think anyone with migraines needs to exam their food choices and diet. The brain and gut are connected

I've always known that strong wind and strong sun are my triggers, but I never thought that foods can be triggers too, thank you for this video

What about barametric pressure migraines. I seem to get them every time we have a low. Would love your thoughts on that.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned soy as a trigger. From experience my wife and I know that any tiny bit of soy in anything will almost always give her a headache. It forces you to really read the ingredients lists when you go shopping.

Thanks so much Dr. Barnard and Chuck! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!! Every month I spend 3 days in bed due to migraines 😭 I eat WFPB diet but still have issues. I'll definitely follow the procedure to find what triggers migraines.

I wouldn't be able to go anywhere, let alone a hospital, for a drug for my migraines.
Thankfully my migraines have been drastically reduced to almost nothing since going plant based. Sugar and being dehydrated being my trigger.

Last night I had a completely debilitating migraine. The worst I’ve had in my 25 years. I took two Tylenol extra strength and 2 excedrine migraine pills. It took about 45 min to completely kick in and the migraine went away. I will definitely try the ginger next time. But excedrine is really a miracle medication for migraines! So if anyone sees this and deals with migraines, please buy that

I’ve been mostly vegan for a year now. I’ve had severe migraines frequently since I was 18, and the’ve only come back on days that I’ve had dairy (cheese/butter).

This was good. I really appreciate this info. I am at my wits end with these migraines and they’re starting to get worse since I turned 40. Im trying so hard not to start taking daily medication to combat it so I’ll be following this diet. I hope this does the trick.

thanks for this interview. My suspicions about dairy products are confirmed and despite the love of cream in coffee, they will have to be excluded.

I had a headache off and on for months. I finally discovered that it was caused by eating way too much KIMCHI! It seems fermented foods are high Tyramine. I believed fermented foods were good for the gut. I quit eating kimchi and the headaches disappeared.
