My 2014 GLI has 200K miles. I love this car. Its been carbon cleaned and almost every part has been replaced. New suspension, new brakes/tires, entirely new cooling system, new belt, battery, alternator, and timing chain service. Thinking about some red top APR coils.

My favorite upgrades:

The best thing I ever did was buy my GTI MK7 certified pre owned from a VW authorized dealership with an extended warranty.

17:47 These actually come off pretty easily with heat. Just heat them pretty good and the glue will begin to come loose. After some heat, just use some pliers and try to gently rotate the mounts. If they don't seem to move, apply more heat, they should come off safely and not damage the windshield in any way. Be careful not to drop the hot mount in the interior, so it's nice to also protect the places where the hot mirror mount may fall on top of.

I've worked in a place that replaced windshield and sometimes there was the need to remove and reglue those mounts and using this method, I have never seen a windshield break before.

My MK7.5 has been very reliable - it's stock and I intend to keep that way. Most of the complaints about VW reliability stem from ill installed mods or owners just not doing the right thing - or taking the cheap way out.

130k on my 16 GTI. Recently the water pump went out, but I replaced that with your kit. Zero issues other than that. It's been a very reliable car. I don't mind owning mine well into the future
