Many to this day still prefer the Golf 7.5 GTi over the newer Golf 8 GTi and in this review we take a look at how the pricing of the 7.5 has changed over the years and discuss whether or not buying one is still a good idea in 2023.

As always there will also be a focus on its practicality, features and cost of ownership.

Take the R500k and drop it on a Suzuki Swift around R200k then take the R300k difference and use it as a deposit on a house and start building your net wealth with appreciating assets. As he says times are tough use your money wisely so stop makung the banks rich and rather enrich yourself!!

Between the Golf 8 GTI and the current Polo GTI, I would take the Polo GTI. Between the Golf 7.5 GTI and the current Polo GTI, I would take the Golf 7.5 GTI. But yeah thank you for discussing a harsh reality that people have to realise. Learn to live within your means rather than to enter financial suicide just to please others. Great review because that Golf looks absolutely marvellous😭

looking forward to the subscribers special🔥

I'd definitely take the Polo GTI but the previous generation, not the current one.

Btw I still feel like the 2019-2021 Polo Gti is the best looking, those headlights are just to die for 📌🔥

I used to own a 7.0 and now I own an mk8 and in my opinion, the driving characteristics of both cars are very similar. Obviously the mk8 has more power and torque. But the chassis and handling is pretty on par with the mk7. I will always have a soft spot for the mk7 and would probably choose it over the mk8 due to the less inferior infotainment system. But, overtime, since owning the mk8, I got used to the infotainment problems. But I still prefer physical buttons. Overall, both cars are a great choice of daily fun that will always put a smile onto your face!

Many manufacturers no longer have service books - it’s all done digitally via the VIN number. You can easily check the service history at any VW with the VIN number.

Great video. Again answering all the questions you want to ask. I also prefer the 7 GTI over the 8 for all the same reasons. Great job.

experience wise the 7.5 drives well, very reliable. I've been driving mine for over a year and I've been abit rough on the vehicle, a little bit of drag racing every now and then and yeah never had any issues with it, and it's very fuel economic. anyways almost traded my 7.5 for the 8 until i test drove the golf 8 and decided to keep my golf 7.5, if u own a 7.5 it's kind of pointless to trade it for the 8.

I have exactly the same one without the park assist. 65k mileage with full service history and vw full maintenance plan extended until July 2024. I added 235/35/19 pilot sport 4s tyres and coilovers which improved the handling and wheelspin by 80%. Still have the original springs. I wonder how much I would get for mine? I have been working from home since 2018 and got the car at 26k mileage. I'm in Cape Town, SA

Used Golf GTI over a demo Polo GTI anyday. Full service history and aftermarket warranty is all you need. After test driving both I went with the Golf

After Muzi's story with the face-lifted Polo GTi, I'd choose the 7.5. We are familiar with everything it has and I won't have to deal with issues even VW doesn't have solutions for

I'd choose this over a current-gen Polo GTI. It's going to keep its value much better too, though I don't think I'd sell it after paying it off. I really don't see the need to chop and change for something that won't give you a massively different experience.

I agree with you on the service history part, and the golf 7.5 comes with 5 years or 90 000 km service plan .

Polo gti!
Because it comes with warranties, motor plans
So if anything goes wrong you don’t pay an arm and a leg or go to goldwagen to look for spares that they may not have
