for people who don’t know why they played this in the simpsons, it’s homer’s life flashing before his eyes because he jumped off a bridge (and lived)

Just watched it today again ... comedy show hits you hard with the reality of aging in the most brilliant manner

watching homers life and knowing about homers true potential really makes this scene depressing, his mom left when he was very young, with a drunken father he didnt really have anyone to look after him, when he shoved the crayons up his nose and left one it set his mental state back significantly, causing him to have to repeat school, though we can tell his dad didnt really care, though each failure makes homer visibly upset. only when he barely gets by on his second attempt does he feel accomplishment, only for it to fade away quickly. and during his pre teen years his house really fall to shambles. his father also walking away showing no care for his son. also suffering from severe acne probably effecting his social life throughout middle school (im assuming) then throughout high school we start to see homers creative characteristic side where he likes to be different things. we see him fall in love with marge and make it through school. when he finally turns 21 he nonstop drinks duff, following in his toxic fathers footsteps. marge however sticks with homer throughout this. as he grows older and older he begins to lose the final thing that connects him to his youth, his hair. his creative characters he dresses up as no longer making him happy. these are the final things he sees before his assumed death. homer's lived a tough life. and yeah he's a drunken dork but how is anyone able to blame him, he was mentally disabled at a young age with a father who didnt care enough about him and eventually homer became alone. finding love and now he feels he's lost that too.

It is so heartbreaking to see Abes desperation even though I can imagine the divorce was in the main his own fault.

Video must be funny, but it is so serious moment for me, i was so impressed when saw this episode at first time.
