Homer honestly seemed pretty normal as a teen even know the crayon went up as a kid

The premise of this episode is great, because as the series went on, Homer became a character to service a funny plot, doing more and more selfish and bad things that hurts his family, so the idea that he has a wake up call episode where he convinces himself that he went too far is great and thats why it hits so hard.

I love how as a child he was committed to complete his goals like losing weight and passing his exams but as he grows up he stops caring

I pictured when homer repeated second grade Barney helps him with his schoolwork and homework and even was very smart before he started drinking anyway nice job 10/10

Abe may not be the best or most caring father but he did seem to care enough to help Homer loose weight when he became immensely obese.

If only it was the last moment of this over-the-hill show. Would have been massively appropriate for this show to go out taking the bit from an old meme that only serves to date it.

It`s so hard to see. I see myself there, alone and unloved throughout my youth, riddled with mental illness and a defeated drug addiction, never achieving, never loved...like I said, alone. I`m sorry for the downer, I needed to tell someone. The piano makes it bareable. It hurts so good.

does anyone know what this montage is based on? i know the episode was mimicking eternal sunshine but this sort of montage wasn't in eternal sunshine. was it mr. nobody? or just a unique creation of matt groenig/ i just can't help but feeling like i've heard this song and seen this type of montage elsewhere than in the simpsons. either way, it's perfect. really depressing
