Most important part of the muscle up : Have your hand over the bar, so the transition is much, much, MUCH easier. Doing weighted pull ups will also help a lot.

Best tips I've heard about pulling in this exercise pull with a curve arc.explosive, and come down slow in the negatives . Keep shoulders down and back .keep shoulder blades together .high reps pullups is when you don't have power and strength dont fool yourself its like cheating .when you don't have confidence you'll burn yourself out . to prevent your ego from interfering with your pullups .do it alone if you are weak do Australian pullups .or stand on a chair and jump come dn slow on negative

Still only can do band muscle ups or low bar assisted muscle ups, I'm at 10 strict pullups to chest from dead hang, doing weighted pullups too . . . tough long road :) NEVER GIVE UP

This is spot on, in my experience the 'arch' is almost a natural side-effect of prioritizing proper form during my pull-up sessions

There's a way that you just feel the scapular muscles contracting at point A, directly leading to the arch at the mid-point of the rep, and finally to full contraction at the finish

You might not experience this if you don't actually 'lock out' to finish the rep (Perhaps in a bid to get in more reps, which - as Daniel has rightly said - should not be the goal)

When I initially started doing the pull-up right (i.e the palms-facing-away-from-me version), I noticed I couldn't even help the arching, but decided to just roll with it lol. This video has helped appease my conscience in this regard somehow haha 😅

I’m focusing on better weighted pullup to get explosive enough eventually to pull strict muscle ups. There’s great carryover with that

I'd love to practice muscle-ups but my gym's roof is so low that I can barely do regular pull-ups without hitting my head.

I'm using a purple band. And flying over the bar perfect form. No band. No go.
I guess I just have to take more time. People at my gym cant do any muscle ups.
I'm going to get there eventually

Wow thx I can do 20 straight reg pull-ups but know I know why my muscle up never work gonna train on chest up bar then waist to bar when I get there n when that’s easy I’ll muscle up. Hurt my shoulder trying to do one yesterday
