As someone who has been in the medical profession for nearly two decades, Dr. Berry is honest and refreshing. Modern healthcare, in hospitals especially, has a rack 'em and stack 'em mentality. Gone are the days of honest and beneficial patient and family health education.

I recently had a huge amount of blood work done. My A1C was 5, my fasting blood sugar was 70, my fasting insulin level was 2.2. In addition, a CAC scan earlier in the year was 0. What was my doctor focused on? My LDL was 135 ("Much too high") and he is sure that my fasting insulin level is too low from "excessive fasting". I will be sending him the studies and scheduling an appointment with him in January.

By the way - in my early 30's, I was on WW and had an LDL/overall cholesterol level that had my doctor dancing with delight. I was also waking up hearing people plotting to kill me in the alley below my bedroom window and I was suicidally depressed. That sent me on an 18 year journey on antidepressant medication. I quit the medication 13 years ago. I found Keto three years ago. I feel fortunate to have survived the journey.

All my wife’s markers are inline, she’s not obese, blood pressure is spectacular but LDL is slightly elevated. She cried when the doctor called to inform her that the she was calling in a prescription and to pick it up ASAP. Not a single discussion about diet changes. The stress I seen in my wife’s face was more damaging than the cholesterol.

I am a physician. For the first time ever, my cholesterol level came back "high". All my lab tests have always been normal, and the rest are still normal. My family doc wanted to treat me... I refused and promised to recheck in 3 months to keep him happy. I haven't gone back to recheck.

Male/60…my bloodwork showed my LDL was 122. Doc told me my cholesterol levels look great. I must have a good doctor!

I went to my 6 months exam last Tuesday, the nurse called me yesterday with the results. She said that my LDL level needs attention, so I asked her how bad it is and she said that it is elevated.I finally got her to tell me how much and she said around 115. Lipitor was about to kill me several years ago and I quit taking it, and I’m not going to get back on it.

My mom (now deceased from Alzheimer's) had very high total cholesterol, over 600 - diagnosed in the late 80's. Then through the years the medical community kept lowering the cholesterol thresholds so they could prescribe more drugs. It started back then with a threshold of 300 total, then a few years later, it went down to 250, and now we're sitting at 200 as the new max.

Mom obeyed the "rules" and went on statins. While her numbers looked good to the docs, she felt like crap all the time, could barely move, said she felt like she had the flu 24/7. Caused a lot of marriage issues for her too. After a few years, she self-diagnosed herself with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibromyalgia, not knowing that one of the major side effects of statins was achy muscles and malaise. Those were only the start of her issues. Then came brain fog, memory loss, and personality changes. She could no longer work and had to go on disability. She even had black outs. She was a wreck of side effects and too many pharma drugs, but never made the connection.

If only we had had access to the information we have now, we would have figured out these issues. We knew a few things back then, but not enough and by the time we found out, it was too late. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in her late 50's, died of it at 72, 5 years ago. She also ate a very high carb diet, believing low fat/high carb was good for her. And when not watching her diet, ate lots of sugar. She was also on several anti-depressants. Her body was just so toxic and inflamed and we had no idea just how bad it really was. Today, I think our family (who are avid researchers and critical thinkers) could have helped her and prevented or at least delayed the Alzheimer's and improved her quality of life in the mean time.

Statins killed my father. By the time I found out what he was on, it was too late. He underwent a double bypass due to heavy tobacco use which resulted in COPD. He radically changed his lifestyle and was doing very well until the statins. I found out after six months of this mitochondrial toxin being pumped into his body and got him off the drugs. The result? Diabetes and high BP: GONE. however, the damage to muscle tissue prevented him from his normal activity level and two years later he was gone. Now, my doctor is trying to push this poison on me. I am very healthy, and active but, her issue is slightly elevated LDL. I told her to do some research. After medical school, doctors receive their education from drug companies and it never ceases to amaze me how so many doctors are devoid of critical thinking skills. Thank you Dr. Berry for not being one of the drones! If they were like you, we would have many more happy, healthy people!

Hi Dr Berry. I was told by my GP here in England that my cholesterol is too high. They measure it differently to you. I was told it was 8.5 and that it should be less than 5. Also that he had looked at the risk score chart which tells them when patients are at high risk of stroke, heart attack. Top score being 10. He said I should take a statin. I have been on them in the past and could not tolerate the side effects. I don't worry about it any more . your video is very reassuring and prior to this I watched a talk by Dr Aseem Malhotra who said " if your cholesterol is high then congratulations you will probably live longer"! In my opinion big pharma want us sick so that they can sell us drugs that make us sicker. I am seventy years old and I fast, eat a low carb healthy fat diet and I feel great. This morning I walked two and a half miles on the beach with my dog. I do that most days weather permitting. 😊

I am almost 70, female, in good shape physically. A few years ago my LDL was 177 and my doctor said it was very high, but thank goodness she did not put me on any statin( I wouldn’t have taken it) as my total calcium score was zero and all other so called numbers were good. I have always been a meat eater but just started carnivore!! I love the way I feel!! Thank you for you dedication in speaking and sharing your wisdom and knowledge!!!

I pray this video "opens" my husbands eyes to the crestor my husbands heart surgeon put him on recently! Is there anyone out there who will seriously pray this this with me as I'm very concerned for my husbands health and life!

This makes sense...especially when 50% of cardiovascular events occur with people having "normal" LDL.

I can't thank you enough for covering this LDL study & providing the link. I've always eaten a healthy diet & and exercised, but my LDL always was around 200. In the last 30 years, all my doctors tried to push stains and/ or a vegetarian diet. I did try Crestor once, but it made me so sick & had non-stop leg cramps that after a few weeks I stopped & never tried another statin again. In addition I never bought into vegetarian or vegan diet- I always felt better with meat, eggs & fish with some dairy & salad. I'm 67 & so far have managed to survive the U.S. medical industrial complex. Have other personal medical horror stories, but not related to LDL.

This is absolutely true and I just think it's so crazy that doctors aren't educated about this and just push for drugs, it's actually sickening and makes me not want to even go see my doctor. Last time I saw my doctor she told me that keto was not safe and my cholesterol was getting too high (200), it's so disappointing to have a doctor like that. I'm seriously thinking about moving to Tennessee, so Dr. Berry can be my doctor 🤣🥰

I was on statins for 8-9 years, during this time I lost sleeping, I developed depression and anxiety, I developed heart palpitations, I had very serious problem with my stomach acids, my muscles felt like sponge...yes my cholesterol went down but I think this brought me down as well. I have stopped the statins since a year ago, my total cholesterol is high, hdl is normal, triglycerides normal, LDL high as per the doctor, ..but I told my GP there's no way I go back to statins, ...I came to the conclusion that whatever is meant to happen it will happen, but I am feeling much better now, so as long if you feel fine then just listen to your body.

Sugar is our enemy not LDL cholesterol. I’ve suffered with debilitating fatigue for 13 years. My Hashimoto’s is “under control” according to an MD. I’ve wasted my life laying in bed unable to move and all my MD drones on about is my LDL’s and how there’s nothing else wrong with me. Thanks for the truth or we’d have no hope at all of any recovery.

For years my parents would say we had high cholesterol in the family and say how bad it was, to keep an eye on mine. Over time mine started to go up just a smidge when eating “healthy”, but not too high. Total is around 204, LDL is 122, HDL is 68, triglycerides is 50- but this was before carnivore- was more Mediterranean. Switched to carnivore mid Sept. So will be interesting to see what has changed. Now age 46 my doc said to watch my cholesterol, but down deep I know the meds out there aren’t good and is high cholesterol really a problem. I ask “why” to everything, sounded like what I hear kids call ”sus” when people say high LDL is bad, especially if triglycerides are low and HDL high, all within good ratios. Haha! Now I know the truth after doing research and watching Dr. Berry, Dr. Baker, Dave Feldman, and a few others. If my doc says anything about my cholesterol again I am referring Dr. Berry and Dr. Baker’s videos to them with their books. I am going to say, “the info you have learned about cholesterol in med school is false. Time to catch up on the science. No meds for me, thank you! Have a good day!” ☺️

Thank you for the info Dr. Berry. There needs to be more evidence like this shown to doctors so they can see the truth.

The ADA and AHA would be out of business if they cured people.
