I have dentures for 20years, since the age of 14...

First i just had the front 4 teeth out ontop (in Cape Town it would be called hekkie bek) until 22years then i had 6 out after removing the canines...

8 years later i had to remove the rest of my top teeth... And since i have had full top set of teeth..

But regarding my bottom teeth i have 9 of my own teeth infront, so on the sides i have dentures but i dont wear the bottoms due to how it makes me sound when i speak and eating of course...

I can eat anything and everything with my dentures....not everyone can though, especially if you have top and bottom dentures...

I’m just fine with mine. I have a liner on my top denture that makes my denture lock into place, but if I go out to eat at a steak house, I will put a thing of SeaBond on my denture and it’ll stick into place. Only thing that annoys me, is cleaning them every night, which isn’t too bad, but when I’m tired, and comfy in bed and then, remember I haven’t taken it out yet.

I just got dentures today. I’ve been struggling with tooth pain ever since I was 17, I’m 26 now. I had several teeth removed over the years, due to them decaying and causing immense pain which I couldn’t stand. I haven’t been able to smile or talk without being anxious in years, nor have I been able to eat many of the foods that I like. I hope I get used to them fast. It’s inspiring to know that so many beautiful people have dentures.🥲
