In this video, I will share with you how you can fix a problem with a Linux Mint not booting on Acer Aspire laptop A515-44 but the same issue can potentially be resolved on other models of laptops as well.

After the installation of Linux Mint on your laptop if you're getting a black screen and it doesn't load, try these steps: 1. Choose Advanced option
2. Pick Linux Mint (repair mode)
3. Select Resume normal boot
4. Press OK.

That's it!

Hope you find this video helpful!

Thanks a lot Pulsar. I had the same issue on a Dell, Dual Boot Windows/Linux. Appended Linux Mint 21.2 Victoria. After a few days Linux didn't boot any more, after the grub menu. In my case it turned out the Nvidia driver [nvidia-driver-470] was the cause. I changed it to the open source driver [xserver-xorg-video-nouveau] and now it boots again. BTW, the open source driver [xserver-xorg-video-nouveau] was the default setting after installation, but the [nvidia-driver-470] was recommended. For several days I suspected the grub and wrongly I did a grub repair via live usb.

That is a workaround. Try to check logs from previous boot to find the real reason.

Hi Pulsar ! First of all thank you very much for your videos and dedication 😊

Ive followed every step on your previous linuxmint cinnamon installation video. I am facing the same issue with the underscore flashing. Ive tried the the configuration mode and also nothing- its always restart the processor. I cant get into the list of the different modes (generic or recovery mode).

If you could that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance

PS i am totally new to linuxmint just decided today to take the step forward ;)
