God HP's are such garbage computers. Never had one that didn't have a million issues.

Thank you so much! You solved my problem after trying this for 2 hours! Worked perfectly on my HP EliteBook Folio 9470m.

Thank you very much for the great info. I installed LMDE6 (debian 12) and had this exact problem on my old HP ProBook 640. Annoying. But your info got me over the hump. Now it books right into LMDE, just like it was supposed to. In my case the custom boot path was EFi\debian\grubx64.efi. It found the boot image and started working without manual intervention.

I have been searching about this for a couple hours now since I have the exact same laptop with the same issue. I couldnt find many solutions and most of them involve modifying files in Linux through the terminal which I don't understand at all because I'm very new to it. It's one of those times where you know its gotta be a simple fix but you cant find the answer. Thank you for the vid it has saved me a lot of time.

Thank you. This worked and so quickly! All the other videos are telling me to set it to Legacy and it wasn't seeing the drive. One I set it to UEFI - Boot and launch! Excellent! Thank you again.

I reset the bios security settings and from uefi. Then worked! Also using Linux mint 22 cinnamon

Thanks for this! I have this same laptop. For mine, the non-secure option failed but the secure one worked. I must have something set differently or something, but either way it's working now.
As Microsoft plans their massive Ai "recall" data collection campaign I'm planning my big Windows Exodus. This is an important step in that process.

I have an
HP G6-233 NR After a simple bios update, its like it was made for Linux. Never had a problem with it, it's lightning fast now. As a matter of fact it's one of the best laptops I've ever used on linux and it's old as dirt with a Pentium D that I upgraded to a
QuadCore duo, 4g ram and linex Garuda..

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on my machine, there’s neither legacy mode, nor there’s custom boot option 😢
