How to Calculate and Interpret a Correlation (Pearson's r)

This video covers how to calculate the correlation coefficient (Pearson’s r) by hand and how to interpret the results. Here we use the 'definitional formula' for calculating the correlation, as it is the easier of the two methods. It also makes more sense intuitively than the computational approach to calculating the correlation coefficient.

Don't you have to divide the standard deviation by n-1 before square rooting it, so it would be SSx/n-1 ie, 10/4. Also for the final formula the denoinator includes n, making it n*SSx*SSy
