MicroNugget: How to Enable Billing Management in AWS
Показать описание
In this video, Bart Castle covers enabling billing management in AWS. By default, the settings for billing administration aren't configured to allow other users access. Unless you're the sole user of a single AWS account, you'll need to know how to enable access to other users.
One of the essential parts of cloud governance is maintaining visibility on your bill while controlling costs. Fortunately, programmatic billing management can be enabled through the AWS Management console.
Imagine you're in your administrative account's back-end and receive an error: you have insufficient permissions to access billing information for this account. This real error is pretty common, even on accounts that were granted full administrative access.
That's because even if a user is granted full admin privileges, by default, billing administration itself is granted only to root.
Find the IAM User and Role Access to Billing Information on the Account Information page. See how to activate it, double-check it and programmatically enable billing management.
