What if you integrate the line between -2 and 2, this will give you area between the line and the x axis which includes the unshade region. Then you again add area between -2 and 1after integrating the curve then lastly subtract area between 1 and 2 after integrating the curve??? I will appreciate if you reply back. Thank you

Why do we say linear function minus the curve function and not the way round please?

why we are subtracting the area of curve(x^2+x-2)? are we finding only the area above the x-axis?

Can we subtract x+2 from the other equation to make it easier

will the area always come positive this way, in physics the area of curve below x axis comes negative, why it is so.
