President Biden Commemorates D-Day 80th Anniversary

The heroes of D-Day were honored on the 80th anniversary of the invasion that turned the tide of World War II. Less than 200 World War II veterans were able to make the trip this year. Leaders from around the world joined President Biden and First Lady Jill at the American cemetery where 9,387 of U.S. servicemen are buried. Among those paying tribute were King Charles, Prince William, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.

Remember these people did not come to see Biden but to pay respects to the fallen soldiers.

My Grandfather served in WW2, drafted right out of High School. He said he was proud of his service, and would do it all over again if it meant keeping our country safe.

It's because of him and the freedoms he and others fought for that I salute every single one of these great men.

Those brave sons were remembered by their mothers until they took their grief to the grave. The collective sadness and loss directed by thousands of families towards those cemeteries is unfathomable. Those boys became cannon fodder. It’s just so damn sad.
