Peru's has an incredibly diverse climate. In fact, it has 90 different micro-climates, but you can break it up generally into three zones. The coast, the Andes and the Amazon rainforest.

Remember, it’s in the southern hemisphere so seasons are opposite. The holiday season is in the middle of summer, which means, New Years is usually warm.

The best time to visit Peru depends on your area of interest.
If you want to go to Machu Picchu, it would be a good time to go during the dry season which is from May to October. That’s when temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60’s.

However, if you wish to experience the amazon rainforest, you may want to consider going during the wet season, which runs from October to April. It usually doesn’t rain all day in the rainforest, just for a few hours at a time. But that’s when the landscape is lush and vibrant, and you can see lots of wildlife.

But keep in mind, this is the time of year when it will be hot and humid, especially in the Amazon, with daytime highs in the 80s and 90s.
