nice follow up! I still recommend using a small fan to keep the surface pro 8 cool while using egpu since it gets very warm

I recommend everyone to wait for Surface pro 9 or 10 when they do release if they are hoping for it to game okayish. My sister has the Surface Pro 8 and it constantly heats up when running normal programs. Just wait people. I think tablet gaming is almost here.

I've been using an 8Gb of ram laptop for 3 months, and frankly isn't enough at all.
In 2022, whatever you do with the laptop, you need at least 16gb of ram.
And i'm a conscious user. Imagine all the average users that are unaware, and thinks "it costs a lot, so it's great". They are screwed

Never heard of an egpu. Might need to take a look into this since I got a surface pro 8 and been looking into gaming on it since my tower does not supports atx instructions on the CPU

Why would I bother with the expense of E Gpu when I could just get a Game Pass for Microsoft's cloud gaming and be able to use it anywhere I have with a decent internet connection ?

one thing i don't understand - why make eGPUs so damn big? What is the point? At that size you can get a decent normal PC. They should make eGPUs much more compact, so that you could travel with it!

Misleading.
People you skip video timeline to part called "gaming", be aware that what you are seing is not power of surface pro. It is external gpu.

Hey man, nice video! I have a Surface Pro 8, and when I tried to play Valorant a few times, although it runs pretty smooth, I noticed that it was quite warm on the back and the next day I turned the device on I got a blue screen with some kind of error. So my question is. Are you streaming these games from a cloud service or have you actually installed them? thx

On your surface pro 8 go into uefi and turn off SMT in bios gaming runs so much better even without egpu

i've the pro 8 with i7/ 16gb Ram and it runs Warzone on avg FPS 50 on low settings, what settings do you run with RTX3080 eGPU?

It's not really a viable system if you have to spend just as much as the Surface Pro 8 cost if not more just to get decent graphics settings. May as well spend 2 grand on a laptop by that point.

Might as well get a lower end GPU and an entire PC for the same money and it'd perform better

Ugh... My SP7 screen just died randomly on me and Microsoft wants me to pay them $360 to repair it for me. Almost just makes more sense to get a new laptop but I do love this form factor.
