Just seeing all the Latin American flags being represented and praised, it’s beautiful! I can’t wait to watch this movie🙌🏼❤️

As a Brazilian, we are usually left out on the latino scenario, so it truly means something to have our flag there. ♥️

Let’s be for real, the salon lady (her name escapes me right now) was the MVP of this scene. Straight up said “screw your depression give me attention and let’s party!”

Fun fact: our boy Lin-Manuel Miranda started writing In the Heights as a teenager.

Us Peruvians get so little representation outside our country, and seeing the peruvian flag just for a few seconds made my whole year

As a first generation Salvadoran-Mexican I get chills seeing this, I’m overjoyed with the latino representation in this movie. It’s like nothing I’ve seen before our people are slowly being more represented in the big screen!! I can’t help but get emotional and brings me tears to my eyes.

As a African American I like to give praise to my brothers and sisters for a great movie and musical. Keep up the good work we need more like it!

Growing up, I was always told I never looked puerto rican, that I looked too white or that I never acted it so I should bother with my name "Miguel Angel." This play and now this movie have given me confidence in my heritage and my people and will never forget the feeling

Apparently, Lin cried after they were done shooting this. He was at that fire escape place and everyone started cheering for his name and he cried of happiness

I got chills every single time I hear this song, and I am not Latina (Greek-ελληνίδα!). Trying to find your place in this world is universally human and Lin showed it in the best way.

My mom's first generation Dominican-American (I'm first generation native-born American) and this movie really touched her and made her cry at several parts. She never tells us stories about the past, but while watching she opened up about how hard her immigrant experience was and it was really beautiful.

Just keeping it real: my white friends keep asking me why I'm so obsessed with this stage production and now the movie. The the comments here and on the extended intro are the entire reason why I'm obsessed with "In The Heights" because it gives representation for our people that isn't: house maid, house keeping, gang banger, dead beat dad, druggie, cartel member, or pregnant without a baby daddy. This is a solid 2 hour positive representation of our people....doesn't matter if we are from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, are all one people that survived Taino genocide, slave ships, conquistadors, etc. This is what our people YOUR Don't be ashamed of who you are or where you are from.
