I love Carla’s face when she says “ Why “

This comes so full circle. Lin was such a fan of rent and now he works with some of their actors.

The older woman who answers her call has such grace, with joy in her eyes. Lovely to see. Thanks Miranda, Chu, and Vega!

She sounds just *stunning*.

The age gap with her and Stephanie Beatriz seems so much wider than it actually is, but they're playing it so cutely I can't care too much. Also I'm so used to gay characters being like half-informed and blink-if-you-miss-it on screen and they're actually behaving like a real affectionate married pair would, it's making me realize just how much gay rep has been missing.

Daniela's actress is only 7 years younger than Abuela's. How does she look no day older than 40?

I had a big smile during the movie when there was a quick shot of Lin during the words "la bandera Puertorriqueña"

I’m an African American and honestly didn’t think the film would move me much because it wasn’t my culture. But i found so much common ground from music to vernacular to personality types, etc. I couldn’t stop dancing and was emotional the entire film and couldn’t explain why. Pacencia y fe really did me in. I’ve never cried at a film like that in my life. All she gave up and experienced for a “better” life here in the states, while also longing for home. Geesh. I cannot fathom what that must be like. Absolutely beautiful and important film to represent the diversity and bittersweet experiences of Latinos and immigrants in this country. Much love and respect to you all ❤️ POC are truly the salt of the earth .

That part where she begins to clap, and everyone claps along with her as some begin to dance just gives me the chills, can't understand why that sound effect wasn't included in the soundtrack

Daphne Rubin-Vega is great in this film. She also did great in Hazbin Hotel as Carmilla Carmine
