Russia says 56 Civilians Killed in Ukraine's Incursion in Kursk | Russia Ukraine War

At least 56 civilians have been killed and 266 wounded during Ukraine's seven-week incursion into Russia's Kursk region, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on September 23. The attack began on August 6, amid Putin-led forces' two-year-long invasion of Ukraine. Russia had previously reported 31 deaths. The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that around 131,000 civilians have evacuated, though it claimed some civilians are being held against their will in Sudzha. Ukraine denies targeting civilians and questions the accuracy of Russia's figures.
