Russia could decide that they've had enough embarrassment from the Ukraine invasion and deploy tactical nukes to take full control over the war, but what would happen to the rest of Europe if tactical nukes are deployed? Check out today's epic new video that looks at a worst-case scenario and what the fate of European countries would be if Putin pressed that launch button.

1 kT is NOT equal to 1000 sticks of dynamite!! It's 1000 TONS of TNT!!

No Article 5? NATO countries don't summon Murica to come to it's aid? Really hard to believe America would not take this opportunity to show Russia why America doesn't have free healthcare.

It’s more likely that NATO would respond by conventionally wiping out Russia’s Black Sea fleet than by nuking Belarus.

Form everything I’ve read since the start of the invasion of Ukraine, there are 3 takeaways on the use of nuclear weapons:
1) there’s a 1-5% probability of a nuclear war
2) as long as Putin makes threats, we’re relatively safe
3) any use of nuclear weapons will almost certainly spin out of control into limited or all out nuclear war

Infographics makes so many mistakes, but I love their imagination and their videos. Alls I can say keep up the good work and try to hit the books a little harder.

In all honesty, there wouldn't be this much debating and waiting around. The US has plans for almost every situation, we would just immideiatly follow them.

Despite the factual and strategic/tactical misstatements this is a rather funny and entertaining vid. Seems it was thrown together without checking facts.

"Russia just nuked Ukraine"
"Guys, guys, I just got a brilliant idea: let's nuke Belarus!"
"... but why?"
"well, why not?"

Definitely makes sense.

Just discovered this show and felt like I was learning alot. Then they said 1 kiloton is the same as 1000 sticks of dynamite. I realize mistakes happen but how many writers and proofreaders did this pass through? Come on, guys. Think about that figure. That would mean 1 stick of dynamite weighs 1 ton.

Interesting take on this, however in the event Russia used a tactical nuclear weapon, the west likely wouldn't respond with a nuclear strike of its own, especially on a country that had nothing to do with the intial strike. Instead I think an air/naval campaign with the goal of destroying Russia's tactical nuclear capability in Ukraine is more likely. It would both avoid potential nuclear escalation AND show that the west does take offensive use of nuclear weapons seriously. Some precedent for a response of this nature is Syria. When they used chemical weapons in their civil war did the US use chemical weapons against the Assad regime? No, they simply launched tomahawk missiles at the airfield the attack was launched from to prove their point. So I'm imagining a response simular to that one but on a larger scale, targeting Russian ground, air, and sea missile delivery systems in and around Ukraine. Thoughts or arguments? I find this topic scary but fascinating

When did USA started to be so sensitive about using nukes against other country in a war ?? OH WAIT A MINUTE ! I know now !!

At the mention of a "battle on the outskirts of Kyiv" I had to check if this was posted months ago. If Russia were in a position where they had the capability to move forces there, they wouldn't be desperate enough to deploy nukes.

The inforgraphics show is so US-centric. "The nuclear warheads stationed in France and UK" are actually independent sovereign nuclear arsenal's of those nations. Yes there are some US weapons in the UK ... BUT that doesn't mean that both of those countries Nuclear arsenal's are NOT fully independent from the US!

For anyone saying that nato probably woudn't nuke belarus,
Its more likely than not since its not directly russian soil. But belarus is essentially russia's only ally in this war (actually sending troops, using its borders/military facilities etc)

I think what the writers meant is for it to show a message to the russians that NATO isnt messing around, Without actually directly hitting russian soil, Further escalating it.

It makes sense given this exact scenario
