IMPORTANT: Don’t forget about hamstring strengthening!!

Don’t forget about the hamstrings‼️

Especially in those with arthritis, I commonly find a lot of people have hamstring weakness. This can lead to difficulty with walking, stairs, and hills ☝🏽

Hamstring weakness can lead to other muscles compensating for example the hip. This can contribute to hip pain back pain and knee pain. This is why it’s so important to strengthen the hamstrings 🙌🏼

The hamstrings help to bend the knee and straighten the hip. These two exercises show a seated and standing variation to activate the hamstring muscles in the back of your thigh 😇

The idea is to choose one or both of these exercises and complete repetitions u lntil you begin to feel fatigue in the muscles, 10-20 may be a good place to start for most 💪🏽

If you experience cramping, relax the leg and give the muscle a short break until it resolves. Cramps can be common when weakness is present ☝🏽

If you’d like more ideas on how to make sure all of your muscles are strong and supporting the joints properly, I highly recommend giving Adventurers for Life, my arthritis workout membership a try! ✅

You’ll get step by step follow along workouts that work the FULL body- something that many programs don’t address.

Thank you so much for these great exercises that you provide us with. They are so helpful. Could you please give me some exercises for lower back pain. I can't walk more than a few feet before the pain starts. It has impacted my life so negatively. ❤❤❤

Thanks so much! My resistance bands will now have more to do, not much help with instructuons from some packages, when we need to focus on certain body parts to excercise them 💪🦵...im not particular fan of machines and heavy weights but I do like the resistance bands 🎉❤

Can I do these even if I have bilateral trochanteric pain syndrome, hip bursitis, bilateral ischiofemoral impingement, a degenerative meniscus tear in my right knee and Fibromyalgia? I also have hamstring origin attachment tendinosis and it seems as if these exercises would make my conditions worse instead of relieving my tight hamstrings? I also have osteoarthritis in all my joints and lumbar and spinal stenosis. My biokineticist and I do a lot of exercises while I'm seated on a chair, but we've never done these. We focus on strengthening my glutes and all the muscles surrounding my hips, knees, ankle and feet and my core for lower body exercises.
