It’s time to change the capital gains tax. Here’s why:

In Budget 2024, we announced our plan to make Canada’s tax system fairer.

We’re going to increase the inclusion rate on capital gains realized annually above $250,000 by individuals and on all capital gains realized by corporations and trusts from one-half to two-thirds. We’ll be amending the Income Tax Act, effective June 25, 2024.

This government has a spending problem not a revenue problem. Under no circumstances are tax increases acceptable for any income bracket. I demand responsible use of tax revenue and any tax increases are unwarranted

This is just asking doctors, or any profession that makes good money to leave Canada. There's next to no incentive to live here at this point. Sure the views and all that jazz are nice but the world is a big place and the grass is looking greener on the other side. If you are a small business owner, or someone who wish to emigrate from Canada for better opportunities and own a property in Canada. This will absolutely impact you, unless the business or property you own is worth less than $250k CAD. Which is almost impossible based on the current cost of living and real estate price in Canada.
