YouTube, it's time for a change

YouTube continues to make the same mistakes over and over again, jeopardizing their creators in the process. It's unacceptable. It's time to sit down and actually figure things out YouTube.

Yet they won't take down That Vegan Teacher's absolutely disgusting videos. Smh. The hypocrisy.

This is like the CoryxKenshin situation again. Where one YouTuber gets their video taken down while everyone else has the same kind. YouTube sure loves its double standards, SMH 🤦‍♂️

True. Youtube is insane with their management and policies.
"Kids" channels with disgusting thumbnails will not get a single age restriction, but somehow this is.
Coryxkenshin also spoke on this. The age restriction is crazy with youtube, and so is the utter lack of communication and transparency.

YouTube shouldn't have the power to just delete peoples income like that. I'm in Canada and don't know the exchange rate but hopefully this can make up for a small part of the revenue lost on that video.

This whole situation sucks. I’m surprised they haven’t given you a partner manager by now. That’s the easiest way to get these problems fixed.

So let me get this straight: AugustTheDuck gets a strike for his recent reaction video but SSNIPERWOLF still has her account active like nothing happened? How's that freaking fair?

They could remove SssniperWolf for her downright illegal activity, That Vegan Teacher for talking a lot about cp/child SA, the YouTube shorts that try to sell sex toys, predators, or abusive family channels, but no. They strike some dude stating his opinion about another dude. YouTube, what the fuck.

I hate how the original video just never has anything happen to it

I hate how if you appeal it, YouTube can flip-flop, give you a strike, remove the strike, remove, unremove, age-restrict, and do all sorts of double, triple even quadruple takes on videos. But also, why has YouTube been striking and even terminating channels for no reason. Over 5 of my favorite YouTubers got terminated, one even got a million subscriber play button only to be terminated the next day. What the hell are they doing

This happened to my channel with a video I still scratch my head over.. flagged and demonetized for "nudity and sexual acts" when pretty much the only thing in it is me walking away from the camera in jean shorts (it was a roleplay and part of the scene is me leaving the viewer to use the restroom). It made me feel disgusted to be accused of something so incredibly false and after multiple appeal attempts nothing was done and I was told by a HUMAN (apparently) that the appeal stands firm. I re-uploaded the video with all previously flagged timestamps edited and removed and it again - within MINUTES, was flagged and demonetized. I know for a fact that nothing about it broke community guidelines and certainly not the ones listed on the flag. It's frustrating and I hope with enough attention something really does change! Let us creators know if there is anything we can do to help.

i feel like youtube genuinely does not care about their proper creators, and instead just keep the people who make the most money (e.g. sssniperwolf). its so ridiculous

There's a couple channels that advertise sex toys as Youtube Shorts. A lot of these sex toys look like stuffed animals, only a couple of the vids are age restricted...

I had a channel removed for child endangerment. Permanently gone with no chance for appeal.

I had never posted a single thing on that account in my life.

But its gone. For no reason.

It's the fact that a YouTuber has to go onto ANOTHER social media platform to demand something happen. That's beyond backwards.

Sorry this happened to ya. You’re one of the good ones. Freedom of speech is practically dead thanks to the offended-by-everything community

I hate the way YouTube treats their creators, and it’s not even new they just refuse to change.

One of the factors of this that I think gets overlooked is that YouTube has virtually no competition. There's not a single social media out there that is like YouTube. No other website has this amount of video sharing as YouTube. The only true "competitors" are Twitch and Tik Tok, and they follow a very different formula from YouTube.

Without competition, YouTube doesn't feel motivated to make things right, or improve their website because they are the competition. They don't have to respect their creators to be successful because no one is close to them in competition. It's the same about EA and their inability to improve their Madden games because 2K isn't giving them challenge anymore.

It's disgusting, competition or not, for companies to do this to the people who make their money. I wish YouTube would stop with the double standards of keeping predator channels like James Charles and SSSniperWolf on YouTube while striking people who only talk about topics without condoning them.

As a content creator myself, I will totally continue to advocate for the YouTube community because they deserve much better than this.

Fun fact:
I used to be an animator who would do videos to popular songs. Like a bunch of other artists did.
Their videos were and are still up, but all mine were claimed and removed.
I did the whole crediting, stating this is simplya parody of that music, the lot.
Nope.

Tried to contact YT with a very similar comment you made.
Striked, and my chanel taken down.

Since I wasn't popular, and they knew it, as you said, I couldn't do anything about it.

YT *absolutely* has favorites.

The way that YT has a content creator address a strike, or any issue, is like the scams you hear about that takes your money yet no representatives/personnel employed. Your just screwed. And that is basically, end of story.

Btw, your voice is so great!!
