I literally just made a laser tripwire alarm project. I used an Arduino as well. But I used a laser that actually connects to the Arduino. I’m going to be using my project by my bedroom door so I know whenever somebody who isn’t supposed to be in my room goes in there. I’ll also be incorporating mini mirrors to have multiple laser beams. The circuit turned out great.

Nice work! I do have a laser tripwire system in my garage that's used every Halloween, aiming them to LDRs is such a pain. Never thought of using solar panels for the analog in, that's genius! The ignition key disable is sweet touch, too! Stealing that!

*Thanks. Built a "laser tripwire" for a prototype, but it seemingly only functions nicely in a dark room and seems VERY susceptible to changes in ambient lighting. Is that simply how it is unless using a much more powerful laser? What about adding a visible light filter or something such as that?*

If I could suggest some green film over the solar panel to reduce voltage fluctuation. Secondly you could just measure how much the voltage output from the solar panel fluctuates and only alarm for sudden changes of said amount.

Have been looking for something like this, but needs to be worked on a bit. I want a camping perimeter alarm on battery use only, but requires 4 sturdy corner poles with mirrors to work. It should not take too long to put up neither, but who knows, maybe this is a start!
