How far is far enough? Tell us what REAL-WORLD range your EV would need to make you consider buying one👇

Great video and a short one too. No bla bla, only facts. Other channels can learn a lot from it.

How about repeating the test on a cold winters morning, see what the range is in comparison.

In a range test i think you should completely exclude city driving. It's at a long distance trip you need the range. Tests should be done with a lot of highway driving at about 70 mph / 112 km/h because that's what you normally drive. With a test like that the Porsche and the Tesla would have been number one and two.

Model 3 should really have the aero wheels, apparently the performance and sport wheels can reduce range by up to 15%. Ouch.
Regardless... The WLTP test cycle is pretty inaccurate for all cars, EPA is 'closer' to real-world driving. Why don't we have a 70mph highway range test for vehicles yet?

Sorry to nitpick, but the Model 3 has the optional 19 inch wheels on. I switched from the 19's back to the 18's with aero covers and got 20+ more MPG. Matters when you state a car's actual to real world range...

Excellent comparison and table at the end. Cut through all the waffle other reviews have and got to the point quickly.

Point to make a few of these are SUV EV's models that would affect efficiency. Taller wider in many cases an heavier.

Why wasn’t the Jaguar I-Pace included?

It nice to have a number of decent EVs with plenty of range - I like the Mustang but I think I prefer the efficiency of the Tesla. Also, I've sat in a VW ID3 and a VW ID4 and I agree - the infotainment is woeful and the interior just reeks of cost cutting (such a pity because I otherwise really like the VW cars).

Teslas have many miles of driving left after the screen says zero. I’ve heard up to 30-40 miles extra. I’d like to see who wins when driving until the vehicle actually stalls from a dead battery.

As a 70 plate Model 3 it doesn't suggest the current version (> Mar 2021). I may be wrong yet I don't think before this Mar claimed up to 360 miles. As no heat pump and is on the upgraded 19" wheels - both mean worse range. I'd love to see the Mach-E go against the current 2021 Model LR with 18" wheels. Battery size vs efficiency would make it a close race.

Should've driven a Kona, I've had 321 miles on a single charge.

We've had our e-Niro for around a year now, done 10k miles, and regularly seeing 250 miles in warm temps and around 200 in winter. Been to NW Highlands of Scotland from Brighton and back without issues and we're heading to the south of France next week to see family. The first leg to my parent's house is 400 miles, and will need two 30 minute charging stops at the Ionity network on the way - it's already hassle-free. We live on a terraced street (no driveway) and charge overnight from one of the local lamp post chargers when we need to (typically once a week or so), otherwise, it's just outside on the street and ready to go.

No 18" aero wheels on the Tesla for what reason? The other cars have more efficient tires and the 19" none aero's are not standard, look at those Mach E wheels. Also usable battery of 70 kWh, how old was the M3?

Now there’s a surprise! Manufacturers have been lying about MPG for decades!

Zoe seems to be the Best Buy for most people. Pity you can’t adjust the drivers seat for height. Massive fail that.
