We’ve brought together six of the newest small electric cars to see just how true their claimed range is. We're starting off in London, and we're going to head north to find out just how far each of them will go, while also finding out just what happens when they run out of juice! Joining us for this video we have:

Honda e

MINI Electric
Renault Zoe

But which of them do you think will travel the furthest? And do you think any of them will hit 100% of their claimed range? There’s only one way to find… Sit back, relax, and join us for this all-new electric car range test!

Random people helping a stranger whilst complaining about the French is one of the most British thing ever.

The Renault ended up just around the corner from where my nan lives! Good to know that if I wanted to go visit her from London the Renault would get me there in one go.

I'd love to see this test re-run during one of our January (or February) days when the heater, lights, windscreen wipers are all going complimented only by the coldness of the temperatures outside. How would they fair and which one would come out supreme then I wonder?

The Honda looks so cool, the best looking one for sure in my opinion

"0% battery remaining. 0 miles remaining. Let's drive AWAY from the charge stations and see what happens..."
LOL!

Had a Honda since january 2022.
In the colder months (Jan - Mar) range was easily sub-100 and nearer 80 but as a city car (and that's what it's marketed as) that's not an issue.
With warmer weather and holidays, we've done several 100-110 trips on A-roads with some dual carriageway/motorway driving and hilly/scenic B-roads and got as low as 9% battery on those trips before hitting a charger - a bit nervy but more confident now we've done it a few times.
We stopped in very rural Perthshire and had a chat with someone who worked for a Honda dealer and he was impressed how far we'd come.

Planning is key - have a spread of charging points planned and avoid hills.
Do we like it? Hell, yes.

I like the Peugeot really, looks so good inside and outside, it’s the best looking and with fair miles on it I swear

This needs to be a Carwow annual tradition. Max out every new BEV for the year.

I really enjoyed this, but a chart at the end showing everything together along with the as-tested price would have been the cherry on the top.

I’ve got an electric van, I have found that the air temperature has a large effect on the distance. The colder it gets the less distance.

I really liked the Honda, it really looks futuristic and has some retero look, tho all the electrical stuff like changing mirrors with electric ones was perhaps more energy consuming, something I like was the retero thing. Apart from the performance. My favorite 😄

All those electric cars are interesting, but I'll choose that super-eco-friendly McLaren on 17:10
