It’s time for another awesome EV range test!

We’ve pulled together six of the latest & greatest all-electric cars to drive them straight North from London to see just how accurate their claimed ranges are. But we won't be stopping when the range hits 0... We'll keep driving them until they come to a complete standstill, to see just what happens!

So what do we have in the line-up? Well, we’ve gone for range-topping editions of all cars, apart from the first car Mat’s in - the Mustang Mach-E. Sadly, we could only get our hands on the entry-level version for this video. However, everything else in the line-up is top-of-the-range! And what a line-up it is...

Audi Q4 e-tron
Skoda Enyaq
BMW iX3
Hyundai IONIQ 5
Kia EV6

So which do you think will go the furthest? You’ll have to keep watching to find out!

I own an EV6 and I'm glad to see that it doesn't lock up like a Tesla when it is out of battery. (ex. Doors locked, charging door locked, unable to push/move vehicle) Thanks for the info!

I'm also glad to see that there are other manufactures that don't lock up as well.

The fact that the film crew spent their whole day making this into a 43 minute video is incredible. You are much appreciated.

I like this type of range testing using the highway route, since electric cars get the worst efficiency in the highway, not in the usual town roads where they can use regen braking often and the motor not being stressed out as much

I think that Hyundai is awesome looking and I reckon that Kia really stands out, but not so much in red. The interior in both the Hyundai and especially the Kia are miles ahead of so many other electric cars. I absolutely hate the vertical tablet type screens, and the Kia having physical controls for climate control is a must

Loved this video thanks! I’ve got an Ioniq 5 on order and I’m okay with the results you got. Think I may have added the heat pump as an option too so hopefully it’ll perform a bit like the Kia?!? Anyway, we chose the car because of our three leggy teenagers. Space in the back is a must for us and the Hyundai wins every time. Keep this great content coming!

I've never watched a 44 minute car review before; only Matt of all the auto youtubers can be entertaining enough for me to last that long! This was a massive effort from everyone involved and it's much appreciated.

kia and hyundai have had the biggest glow-ups of any car brands in the 21st century

Great video! I have run my 2019 Ioniq with a small 28 kwh battery out so I knew the feelings/emotions you were experiencing. There are methods to gain range such as eco mode and cutting the extra power eaters like heater, accessories and lights (daylight) so I can imagine 10 or more additional miles might be quite possible

That Hyundai is selling in boatloads here in Norway where electric car sales is 80% of the market. Hyundai did a lot of things right here, getting Delta HF Integrale vibes from it personally...

Hyundai and KIA really did an amazing job with their first true EV. I absolutely love the design of Ioniq 5 and the EV6 definitely growing on me. Definitely my dream ev

I’m personally not a fan of Hyundai but I was having my car serviced and walked into all the dealerships there. I really have to give Hyundai credit. They really stepped up the game. Putting pressure on the luxury cars brands. I didn’t expect to see the luxury and quality of the cars. Hyundai really showed my how complacent the other big car brands are getting. They really stepped their game up. I don’t think I would jump ship to them just yet. But they definitely got me interested.

EV6 seems quite impressive. 91% of the achieved range is fantastic. It beat the Tesla model 3 LR in range (273 mi to 270 mi) if we compare last year test albeit weather conditions were different. It also looks like the buffer below 0% charge is better with this Kia.

The fact that the Skoda reserved enough power to maneuver to a charging station (I think) seems to deserve special mention yes? The rest appeared to strand their drivers

I love this kind of test by Carwow. Wish they upload this in the future as well.

Great Britain test. I have always had BMW, Audi and Mercs. I now own a Kia EV6 GT line s, all wheel drive. It is a really fantastic premium feeling car and is great value for money. Well done Kia.

Be interesting to test them again in a couple of years time see if their batteries have gone down much. Just about every rechargeable thing I've ever bought suffers from battery loss. Are cars any different? I doubt it.
