🇬🇧 PLUG with Secret Instructions

The BS1363A plug is unique worldwide as everyone includes a ceramic fuse inside. Most people don't realise the card includes all of the connection instructions, even down to the length and stripping of the individual conductors.

I always make the earth wire atleast 5mm longer than the instructions show...
It ensures that the earth is last to disconnect in the event of the cable being pulled out of the plug top.

The size of those UK plugs is still so strange to me.
But what they lack in space efficiency they make up for in safety, I suppose, what with shrouded terminals and fuses.

It’s a shame they don’t extend the solid metal parts so you have 3 equal lengths at the middle of the plug rathe than having to route the cables round the plug. May cost pennies more but the easy wiring would have me spending more on it.

Where are the *secret* at this product? Every plug since over 20 years have instructions with them. But European Union plugs are more easy - only two different length.

Interesting that the British plug industry starts with that now. 😱😁
