7:52 I second this. Godot is just all-around the best game engine I have used. It's not significantly harder to learn compared to GameMaker Studio, but there is more of it to learn because it comes with so many built in widgets. However, once you've learned how some of those widgets work, and how they work with each other, it's a lot easier and faster to put stuff together. In some ways Godot reminds me more of classic Visual Basic than other game engines because of all the widgets.
The only problem with learning Godot is that the tutorial community is perpetually lagging behind because it's so new and the devs are still adding stuff so fast. Still, I think this is the time to jump in and learn it. It's what I've been doing for the last month. Just bear in mind that for some of the older tutorials you will need to double-check the current documentation to see what's changed.
