Rick … a big reason for the success of your channel is your personality shines through.

Two years ago, at 49 years old, I quit my corporate job in the US, moved my family to Japan and decided to revive my dream of being a full time drummer. It took 3 months to get my first gig playing at a flea market. That led to a band that lasted 9 months and played to gigs. While that one was getting started, I joined another band playing standards and Japanese jazz tunes. On my birthday this year I auditioned and got the gig for a band that has released 6 albums. We rehearsed weekly for 9 months for me to learn a good chunk of the material. Last weekend I had my debut with them to a packed house of about 200 excited followers. We have gigs booked for the rest of the year and will be recording our 7th album next year. I'm not even a "chops" drummer or even that good. But I'm consistent and play to enhance the song without flashy stuff.

It's never too late to switch careers and do what you love. Thank you Rick because within a month of moving I discovered your channel and was inspired to follow my dream.

rick, i am a 66 year old retired guy who loves music. i even enjoy writing my own songs and doing the fun puzzle solving of the art.
since recently losing my youngest boy, my gentle giant jeffrey to sarcoma, i didn't find anything fulfilling in the poetry and lyrics anymore.
it just seems so "who gives a damn". it's all worthless and just go and make some coffee and sit outside.
we probably never will get over this, but you know, pushing on is what we all really do anyway.

but your videos have, well, stating to, bring back the joy and other feelings...sorta. i still can't write for longer than a few minutes without finding myself staring off into the room wall, but you have lit the fire of enjoying music.
i share all of your videos with my son and all the younger, just starting out musicians. many are stunning and hopefully i can use your videos to push them, help them stretch their imagination edges and learn more ways to get excited about expressing themselves through their music.
your fun totally relaxing, goofy love for what you do and the music is contagious and very important to all of us.
when you smile and get excited about the subject, i catch myself grinning right along.

it is a gift and thanks for passing it around.
finding you was one of the finer accidents of my life.

thanks, rick

8-6-05. The day I quit drinking.
Music has helped me get through this period of my life. And it is still, one day at a time.
Your channel has helped a great deal in answering my questions, during my relearning process. And for that, I am grateful. Thank you Rick.

10:27 Rick — you getting emotional talking about your mom got me emotional thinking about my mom —who walked me 3 blocks every week to my first guitar lessons (mom and dad didn’t have a car). I would wind up teaching at that same music store 6 years later. I also remember mom borrowing against her life insurance policy to buy me my first “good” guitar. It happened to be a 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom! I went from a Hondo II to a Gibson when I was 15 because of her. She was my biggest fan and supporter and I will cherish those memories forever. She was a 4’ 11”—little Italian woman with one of the biggest hearts ever. That support early on, especially from a mother, is really special and a confidence builder for sure🎸🎸🎸🎸

March, 20th 1981 - I was 14 and I went to my very first rock 🤘🏻 show in my life. Queen live at São Paulo, Brazil - the band and Freddie were in their Peak. Freddie was awesome and ruled the show!! Never forget

Rick, I have learned more about music from you in the last year than in the whole of the rest of my life. You are a gifted teacher and communicator. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us.

You were surrounded by people who nudged you little by little and then your hard work made you stable on this platform. Much respect for your growth, glad you spoke about this, honestly very inspiring.

You have one more gift in addition to all your incredible musical knowledge: you're a communicator. A full-fledged one. Honest, straight forward and kind.

Rick, I really love this. As a 50-year-old man who's grown pretty despondent with career and life in general, I can't tell you how much this meant to me tonight. Thank you so much!

Watching the videos of RB makes me add all that massive information to my music skills and that allowed me to finally reach that magical level of play what I heard in my mind ... Realize my music ideas took me to another level of musicianship I didn't knew I have... I got 20 years of playing bass & perccusions, now I started to play accordion and different kinds of ethnic flutes ... And that was for watching this channel ... Support all of us who learn and keep growing in this career makes Rick Beato the best teacher in the world ... Thanks

Rick I don't play an instrument...yet, and I don't understand 98.9% of what you're talking about but I love your channel. I find it fascinating and somewhat addictive and your love for what you do, even though I don't understand a word of it, is compelling and enjoyable. Congratulations for all of your success and thanks for the "hope"
:-)

Your channel is such an amazing thing and I’m so happy you are able to do what you love and support your family.

I played saxophone and guitar for about 15 years. When I had my first kid I sold all of my equipment to help support him. Since then, I’ve occasionally missed playing but didn’t think much of it...until I found your channel.

Over the past few months I’ve made it a goal to get together the funds for a new guitar/amp because your channel has made me realize how much I miss it and how amazing playing music can be.

I tell everyone i can to check your channel out and I hope you continue to inspire others as you have me.

Take care!
