I watched this video instead of reading the manual, it's such a good summary of the menu and features. The Ninja V is on special in early 2020 for their 10 year anniversary, picked it up for just over US$500.

Thought you might like to hear my experience with Atomos:
Well, I bought a Nija V in October of last year, about 5 months ago.
I have used it to shoot about 1.5 gigabytes of video and then all
of a sudden it started to lose connection with my Panasonic GH5. At
first I thought it might be the Atomos HDMI cable I was using but
though that not to be the case. I submitted a warranty repair request on the Atomos website and after a week I heard nothing from anyone. I then called the Atomos USA number hoping to talk to someone in tech support but that simply went to voice mail. After more testing I determined it actually was the cable. Finally I heard back and was told they would send a replacement cable which they did. But...
What I bought (and what was on the receipt I sent them) was an Atomos full HDMI to full HDMI cable at a cost of $49 USD. What I received as a replacement was a UCEC 11.81" cable that has a cost
of $9.99 USD on Amazon. I have sent them an email asking why I received a cheap replacement instead of the same as what I bought. I should hope nothing ever goes wrong with the Ninja V as there is no telling what they might send to replace that!!! I would be hard pressed to suggest anyone buy from Atomos if that is their after sale treatment of a customer.

An important note for gh5 gh5s users in anamorphic mode: The Atomos Ninja V seem to have a huge limitation: in 50/60P mode 4:3, the display does not want to display or record full screen, so you will have a small output on screen and also loose the x2 enlarger to focus while recording. Someone reported about the fan noise as well on the fan noise. Seriously, I was about to order this because the main reason I wanted this was for anamorphic mode but it seems it has some hidden flaws which I cannot live with.

Hi! What about fan noise from the Ninja V? Would you say it’s so loud so you can’t have a mic mounted next to it?

Quick question: Does the HDMI cable attached to the camera interferes with gimbal's stabilization in any way? The cable looks thick and is linking a part stabilized to a part that isn't. I'm concerned this can create unexpected shaking or even reducing motors precision.

If you feed it an 8-bit signal from a D850, what bit rate does it record? I've heard it records an 8-bit signal in a 10-bit container, but can you confirm this?

Thank you for a great video. Does it have a simple feature like a 3x3 nine grid that helps frame the shot. I'm sure it should have this feature, I just didn't see it in the video.

what kind of bullhead was on camera at :15 seconds into video? I just got this monitor today. Need to secure it tightly. Using it mostly on ronin M and handheld.

Hi, does this bypass recording to your camera's internal storage like an SD card in a DSLR or could you still record to the SD card AND to the Ninja ?
.... and what is the advantage to recording to this device over the memory card that you put into the camera ( like you find on a dslr ) Thank you ! hopefully you can answer them and maybe others.
