Bodycam Shows 11-Year-Old Arrested for Fake Kidnapping Prank

Florida police say an 11-year-old girl texted 911 to say her friend was abducted by a stranger in a white van. For the next 30 minutes, she gave updates on the supposed kidnapping. Deputies tracked the girl's phone and then went to her parent's house. To their surprise, when they confronted her, they realized she was just 11 years old. According to an arrest report, "She stated that she got the idea to prank 911 through a YouTube challenge and thought it would be funny."

Wow. As a 40 year old man I'm kind of ashamed that I didn't know texting 911 was a thing. I guess you learn something new every day. Hopefully this young lady learns from her mistake. Her father seems solid so I'm sure she will. It is messed up what she did but many of us did really stupid things when we were kids.

When I was her age, I KNEW to never prank call the police. I KNEW it was a bad idea to prank call the police. Heck, I never did prank calls
