This is, anecdotally, the split I've come to just noticing how my body recovers from weights and bjj combined. 3 days of weights and 3 days of bjj with stretching and cardio on the side seems like the perfect balance for overall performance

I was just thinking about this. Thanks for the shorts. Im low key going to bjj 3 times a week, than started going to the gym, but i wasnt sure what was the perfect balance. Thanks

Is training 5 days a week too much BJJ training? I’m still a white belt with no stripes and just want to get good.

My academy does:

Monday: BJJ Fundamentals
Tuesday: BJJ Advanced
Wednesday: No Gi
Thursday: Judo
Friday: Drilling & Sparring
Saturday: BJJ Advanced

They promote based on skill and not on attendance.

Based on your experience and knowledge, if I did shorten my days from 5x to 3x a week to incorporate lift days, what BJJ days would you choose to progress in my BJJ Journey?

You don’t need weights for combat sports. Calisthenics is just as effective as weights
