"In a way that's legally defensible within your context" is basically how I make 90% of my decisions 🤣

Could not be truer. Thanks for the reminder on the importance of full range of motion.

I know this is just one of the vids, but since I've started watching dr Mike, I changed my workouts to prioritize full range of motion and loading the stretch. It's unbelievable the growth I've had and how much better it is for joints and everyday life. So much quality content. I'd love to use his app but unfortunately the RP fitness doesn't show up on Android for me.

I can see shortened position training like this being useful for something like boxing tho. Maybe not a floor press but something like short explosive heavy reps on a smith machine bench could theoretically bring some additional juice to your jabs

As a fighter, I will literally change my workout routines because of this video. Thank you!

Oddly enough, while I get the rationale, there are very reputable fight sports coaches (P. Daru, Boxing Science in UK come to mind first) who favor floor presses for strikers precisely because they avoid putting already overused shoulders into more stretched positions, possibly train in a range more realistic for throwing punches and for sure enable safe overloading compared to regular bench press. Interesting discussion to have...

Knew a rugby player years ago who trained limited range of motion. He kept getting injured. You can do some limited range training to increase strength, but always include full range exercise.

Exactly! Pause presses w the weight pasued and relaxed on chest.. Secret to a giant bench. Weakest point is off the chest.
