Keep in mind, the people who want these devices want them *because* they do less! That way they can focus on their work and environment. And a slimmer form factor, faster pen response times and USB-C is everything I know people want out of a new reMarkable. But at $399 it's just pushing the limits of what it should cost, and if the final price tag with the Marker (which, just saying, should always be bundled), the Folio and express shipping is going to be $536 (not counting customs!), then they're just out of their minds.

Price it around 200 USD and see it fly off the shelves in no time ! In this era of distractions we need something that can help us focus. iPad for many has become a device only to consume Netflix.

YES, we want to see the finished version that will be delivered to us consumers!!

But you have to say: If it's a replacement for paper, then its only right that there's limited functionality. I do not only value the experience of paper-like writing, but also the state of the mind that comes with that: Just a pen, paper and your thoughts - that's it. I find something incredibly liberating in this state :)

I kickstarted the ReMarkable1 and still use it almost every day. Everytime I start a new Project for a customer I just pop up a new page and write down my notes, ideas and sketches and can syncronize it to my PC. Battery last weeks. Didn't use any paper since. I ordered the ReMarkable2 as soon as it was announced.

That’s the beauty of the reMarkable 2. It doesn’t do all the stuff other tablets do, to keep you focused. It’s a distraction free device. I think some would could consider that a huge benefit.

That's EXTREMELY impressive. Personally, if it was 250-300 dollars, I'd kinda consider it... But umm as much as I love it, my wallet says otherwise...

This is probably the best e-ink tablet I have ever seen, at least design-wise

If I were still in college, and if all books were available digitally, I'd buy this ASAP. Ebooks are usually a little cheaper than hard copies, so the money you save there plus the convenience of not having to lug textbooks around would make this a big win.

The rM1 literally allowed me to pass my semester. Before I had huge organization issues (paper, notebooks, computer...).

Now everything is neatly organized in folders (subjects>lecture, exercise, exam prep...) and synced on all my devices.

The default software is a bit basic, but since the OS is open, many skilled users have added dozens of functionalities that considerably enhance the UI/UX.

The reason you probably struggle with telling a difference in speed in tasks that are not that taxing is probably due to the refresh rate of the e-ink display, not the processor.

This year I’ve switched from classic notebook and pen to iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and Paperlike, using GoodNotes as my app of choice. It works! Plus I can do all the other awesome things my iPad is built for.

This device looks incredible but absolutely no way I’d be carrying this AND an iPad Pro in a bag together when one of the devices can take notes as well as do so much more.

Also I’d say it’s about $100 too expensive. Give me an A5 sized $150 version and I’d seriously think about it.

I have the reMarkable 1 and have ordered 2 - batch 2. I have kept notebooks for decades (Moleskine / large / ruled) and eliminated that with this tablet. It does exactly what I want it to. I'm a web and app developer and a writer and this is perfect tablet to unplug, create and work.

I've been waiting months for this!

This looks so fresh and futuristic to me, love how it can mimic the texture of paper I wonder if in the future we'll have anything as a display and I mean anything

I'll wait for the remarkable 5 so I can buy remarkable 4 (with a color e-ink display), cheaper.

This needs a mini version. Somewhat similar to a moleskine notebook.
I have A LOT of notebooks and they’re all used from work. I’ll def buy it if they came out with one.

Fun fact, this stuff is open. It runs Linux, systemd, Qt. You can SSH into it and run your own stuff. You may even run a webserver on your scratchpad.

If you’re buying a lot of paper, this is a worthy investment in your learning.
