I strongly considered one because they have pumped out their ads everywhere. But the having to pay extra for the pen and then the cover and everything made it upwards of $500. I could just buy a nice laptop for that. I ended up getting a $25 rocket book and you get the joy of writing on a physical medium for a fraction of the price.

But one can actually buy the Paperlike screen for an iPad. Maybe if Remarkable would be cheaper, but currently it's just not worth to buy such device. Despite its name, the e-ink has always had reading ebooks on ebook readers in mind, not "writing".

I have both of these devices and i prefer reMarkable for writing just because it feels almost exactly like paper + it doesn't strain your eyes

Ipad pro does seem to feel more realistic as in less latency. I think the remarkable 2 would mess with my head a bit. It's a very small difference but noticeable for me

For me I am distracted by apps and notifications. I like the Remarkable 2 for the fact that it has one purpose and I am not distracted by multiple factors.

Be careful with buying it and expectations, the equipment is good but it is difficult to run some docs and above all the technical service, as some other member puts it, is very bad and there is no repair service (important when you realize that with the smallest blow is damaged and obviously not covered by the guarantee) keep this in mind, if I had known I think I would have chosen another option with service

There’s a screen protector available for the iPad to give you that paper feel. Since I take a lot of notes on my iPad it was a must for me. I love how responsive the iPad Pro is, that lag on the remarkable 2 would make me dizzy 😅

I really want a remarkable, as a teacher this would save me a lot of time taking notes. Unfortunately, they don't ship to my country 😭

I returned my RM2 and got a Samsung tab s8+ for $500 used. I love the Samsung over the RM2 I can do way more with it (the RM2 is an over priced digital notebook) and also the writing delay is annoying on the RM2. The RM2 is exactly what I wanted besides the price and writing delay.

I want a remarkable tablet which can open like a real notebook, and we can write on both sides. It should have a fast UI, with high refresh rate, and better software. A camera for scanning documents would also be nice. A fingerprint unlock too. And lastly it should support more colours!

Unfortunately, the RM2 is also very janky. I returned mine and went back to my iPad Pro.

I have both. I carry Remarkable to my meetings to write notes.

You can get a "paper" screen protector for the iPad that makes it feel much closer to the reMarkable

I would really like to have a remarkable 2 i am recently getting into animation and the remarkable 2 would be pretty good for sketch even because I am more familiar whit friction then the glass of the I pad or other screen I don't know if I can buy it it's very expensive for me (I am a student)

The remarkable 2’s pinch zoom and scrolling so bad. I returned it and got an iPad.

Remarkable every time. PDF, WORD, ... yeah.... Remarkable wins.

I think I may just spend £10 on a pen and notepad :D
