Super job! I like the stop block trick. I've used that a lot when I don't want to fool with my miter saw.
I'm glad to see a young man do woodworking. My 14 & 10 year old boys have started helping me with different projects. It's a great feeling when your son hugs you and says "this is fun!"
I really enjoy your videos. We made your pencil holders out of reclaimed lumber from their old swing set. Keep up the great work!

Glad to see you're using eye, ear, and respiratory protection
Many of us fail to do so, particularly respiratory

Glad to see you are still making videos. I ran across one of your videos earlier that was from two years ago. It's great that you are still at it. Another great project.

Great build, something like that would clear up 2 or 3 shelves in my paint locker.

nice job, looking good! tip though, you could have made the sides a little wider, recess the back in 0.75 " and hide the french cleat inside the recess. the cabinet would have hung flush to the wall.

good build. one tip, start from the top when using pocket screws. you would of only struggled on the last shelf rather than all of them.

nice project. see you had to break open the special tools to get them pocket holes drilled

I'm not sure if you should worry about copying someone's work. It's such a basic shelf made from plywood and pocket holes. What I believe is important is that you needed a shelf for a specific need and you shared it with the YouTube community. There's plenty of people who have made the same similar shelf without knowing Jay Bates made a video or that you were going to make a video on the future... if that makes any since. Myself personally made a similar shelf for my specific need. My children had a bookshelf that took up too much floor room in their very small reading room so I made a thin shelf that would utilize as much wall space and providing more floor space. My shelf is taller, wider than yours and is also made from a sheet of plywood. The only difference is the lip I made on each shelf so the books could face forward without the books falling off the shelf and the green finish.I also used a french cleat even tho it stands on the ground but because it's so thin, I wanted to make sure that the bookshelf wouldn't tip over. I would share a picture of it but I wouldn't know how to. But my point is... I made this shelf months ago but you made pretty much the same shelf. So yeah, everyone has made the same shelf pretty much but what makes it unique is how you made it to fit your specific needs.

good stuff man! and nothings original on youtube bro. i wasnt even thinking about jays finishong supply rack when i 1st tuned in.. and his is different anyways is spray paint cans are on an angle and that guy was thinking the same thing I was thinking I was going to say you could also hang your paint brushes or paint scrapers to the sides. gotta love the french cleats
