For anyone watching this who wants to improve on finishing, I would also recommend doing kick up touches. Kick the ball up and take a touch and shoot straight away. As an attacker, having a good touch will only make your chances of scoring a lot higher👍🏿

As a striker and top scorer in my league last season, this isn't the best set of drills.I'd recommend starting further out and practice cutting in a finishing straight away. Also if you can, get a defender to try to block your shots or simply a manikin to block your shots. This is a good starting off drill if you really have no confidence or composure. Because the main issues with strikers isn't their shot accuracy or first touch, it is their composure and confidence. How are you supposed to remember these types of drills in the heat of the moment of a 1v1 situation. It may slightly improve accuracy but it won't solve a goal drought or you losing your composure and making the wrong decision and losing your head. If you are a striker struggling for goals, try to boost your confidence by focusing on the positives not the negatives and have little goals to improve such as getting a shot on target. Most of this will come with experience but to make yourself truly a goal machine, this is the most important. Last Friday, I had this opportunity on the left side of goal near the penalty spot. Instead of hitting it straight away and possibly hitting the defender scurrying to get in the way, I took a fake shot and put it on my left (weak side) and just slotted it away from the keeper. It was barely side netting and didn't have the most power but it still went in. It isn't all about, "must be side netting with incredible power" just simply putting it away from the keeper with somewhat decent power will get it past most keepers at the level that most of us play at. I believe in all of you and score some goals.
