I am going to say something here that some people may probably find offensive. I am glad that I wasn't born in the United States. I was born on a little Caribbean Island and even though we can find faults with our media, it is clear that US media goes to such extremes it boggles the mind.

Before I retired from my job, in the year 2004 I spent a vacation in the US with some relatives that live there. As anyone will know, when you visit a country you tend to follow their media so as to compare with your own; especially if you are from a third world country.

I can distinctly remember the coverage on events taking place in Israel were so diverse from what I was seeing on my TV screens when I returned back home, it was like night and day. It was then that I came to the conclusion that US mainstream media is not in the business of informing the citizens of what is really going on.
