There was a lot of animosity toward the Potter series from church goers. As I was buying a new release, years ago, for our son, for Christmas, the teller was ranting about how evil these books were. Being inextricably tied to the Church of England may have had an impact on DR not meeting the RF. Not that it’s any reasonable excuse but then again neither we’re the ramblings of the cashier at the book store.
