Edit: yes, there's a new series in pre production with HBO. It has been confirmed to be in the works, but so far no actors are confirmed and no sets etc, it's all in pre-production.

And Rick man also was probably sick of being strangled. He also was battling cancer that he only shared with a handful of extremely close confidants; right before filming the order of the Phoenix- the rest of the filming for the other movies.
But refused to give up his role despite the battle.
The man was in pain and tired all the time. I think we can all cut him a break for this one, haha.
