This worked perfectly on my front door, which was sagging quite a bit. I tried the "bend the knuckles" trick, but all that did was scratch my hinges. This, on the other hand, worked beautifully, and as a bonus, it's adjustable for any future needs. Sheer genius!

Thank you! I put off trying this for a week because I didn't think it would work. Now I can go snowboarding tomorrow without getting sideways looks from my wife. You sound a bit like Woody Heraldson.

I just did a similar adjustment, but my trick is lining up a dozen or so toothpicks on some packaging tape, remove whichever hinge will move it the direction you're needing to, taping the toothpicks to the door behind where the hinge goes, and then putting the hinge back on. I did two layers (one vertical, then a second on top horizontal with another backing of tape) on the lowest hinge so that middle hinge had one and bottom hinge had two layers, creating a gradual, sloping adjustment. It will add 1/8" of adjustment per layer of toothpicks. And they're wood, so they will not create any kind of squeaking down the road, and cushion the hinge back nicely as the hinge is screwed back in. Also recommend doing to longer screws than normally are used, such as 1 1/4" or 1 1/2".

What if it's the opposite and the latch side is rubbing? I have non bolt hinges and can't adjust. I'm thinking cutting the latch side or making the hinge cutouts deeper.
