According to Mackey, this technique is the single most helpful intervention he has yet encountered for managing with worries, anxiety-related sensations and pain.

Chris Mackey is a clinical and counselling psychologist and Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society with 40 years’ psychotherapy experience. He is the principal psychologist at Chris Mackey and Associates, his private psychology practice in Geelong.

Chris is also the resident psychologist for Destination Happiness, a wellbeing TV show aired nationally across Australia on Channel 9 and internationally through the Discovery Channel. Chris presents the “Happy Mind” segment each week, involving brief tips based on the science of positive psychology.

Chris appears on 93.9 Bay FM, in Geelong, with his radio guest spot, at 5:40pm every second Wednesday with Roxie Bennett and Daryl Reader. Segments on synchronicity involve callers phoning in to tell of their experiences of meaningful coincidences.

He also writes an opinion column for The Geelong Advertiser as he has done over the past few years.

Chris has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences over the past 25 years on such topics as the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma, the evaluation of the effectiveness of psychological therapy for anxiety and depression and the wellbeing benefits of synchronicity. He has a particular interest in promoting more optimistic approaches to mental health, including positive psychology.

This is a technique used in emdr correct? So are you saying to use the app when you're feeling anxiety or some stressful situation happens and to focus on the feeling in your body through each minute to lower the distress? Which is different than in emdrv with a theripist who might focus more on what memories come up during that distressful experience?
