How could Jesus die if He was God?

I like to think of the holy trinity like this: we have our bodies, our consciousness, and our soul. These are three separate things, but they are combined and make a unity such that we are one. I think of the holy trinity as somewhat similar to this. I know it's not a perfect example, but it helps me to understand it in human terms.

Jesus Christ did not die because He's weak or defeated, because Christ LAID DOWN HIS LIFE BY HIS OWN ACCORD:
(John 10:17-18 "The reason the Father loves Me is that I lay down My life in order to take it up again.

Now, with that being said leads us to "the greatest kind of love" as demonstrated by Jesus Christ: (John 15:13  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.)

The strong blows he got. The beating, whipping he got could not kill him. He died by choice. After He said its then He said Father into your hands l commit my spirit. That's when He dies. No man could kill Him.

The thing is, up until now, this is still a Divine Mystery, but he has graciously explained the Godhead and Trinity.
