Pro tip: instead of breaking the connector from the wire strip, cut the strip so it leaves a tab that can be used to handle the tiny connector. This help to orientate the connector in the crimper, especially for the tiny 1.0mm SH connector. Crimp the connector on the wire and then finally break-off the connector from the tab.

Nice video. There are some JST crimp videos out there that are 20 minutes long. Seriously, it doesn't need to be that long.

In a way this PA-09 crimping tool really looks better than SN-01BM since the laws are narrower. You can (have to) crimp it in two stages but that gives you more visibility and control. They are damn expensive though, like 3-times more expensive.

I was having trouble with the insulation crimp on small 24 ga. wire, it would be a folded up mess. I found if I cut off about 1mm on each of the insulation wings it makes a perfect crimp on the small ga. wire insulation.

Isn't the JST connector a 2.5mm pitch compared to the usual stripboard 2.54mm pitch though?
