I had been trying this an odd 20 times now watching other videos, but I could do it on the first try after watching this one. Very good job on showing exactly how its done and how its supposed to look like afterwards

I've watched many videos like this, and yours is the first to show that the band actually serves a very important purpose in crimping these little connectors. I had many failed attempts because I removed the connector from the band and then tried finding the sweet spot on the jaws. Your method is so much easier!

Thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't sure which pliers/jaws were the correct ones for rolling the tabs to bite into the wire.
...don't do this manually...
I made my first 5p connector without the proper tool. That was a solid 45 minutes of tedious frustration :-)

Chris, thanks for doing the video for me, I contacted the seller of these crimping pliers they do not sell any other dies for these pliers, that’s a shame.

I have that exact same crimping tool and it was doing an aweful job for DuPont connectors! Now I can see it was never designed for DuPont and that's probably why it was doing such a horrible job. Thanks for video.

Really great job at explaining this process - and at the video in general! Thanks for sharing. I just purchased one of these crimpers with the connector kit. I hope to be making some 5-pin cables soon.

Great video. I have a different brand set but same basic deal. Other videos are blurry or say I need a thinner crimper to crimp the two sections independently. This is great and I’m now going to go ahead and make my first connector with high confidence that it will just work.
