COMPARING MY OLD/NEW MAKEUP ROUTINE! 🥲😭

tips and helpful information below! ↓ 🤍 I did a 2016 vs 2023 makeup comparsion and there is lots I learned! Lets break it down into categories:
𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴 ~
In 20216 I used to just create a BLOCK. But eyebrows have a natural way of 'flowing' considering how your hair grows, and only adding lines to fill in gaps. brows come in all shapes and sizes but creating a thinner end helps to take some of the visual 'heavyness' away. Lifting up the outer half also gives you a lifted eye look. If you ever want to experiment with your brow shape, take a small brow razor and a bit of styling wax, form the hairs into the shape you like before shaving. I am saying razor, so it can grow back if you are not happy with it. Overall just keep in mind how you brows frame your eyes in general!
𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 ~
Consider your eyelid space, and create your look with your eyes open! It's always good to have some lighter and darker areas, but really keep in mind if you want to bring your eyes out (light eyeshadow) or push them more in visually (dark eyeshadow).
𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳 ~
I have a few tutorials on this, but the main idea is to create whatever liner you wish, with OPEN eyes. Draw over your crease if you have hooded eyes, and fill in the gap later. Use eyeshadow as a guide if you are unsure about the shape or position!
𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘴 ~
Again the topic of space is important, big dramatic lashes are great, but if they start drooping into your eyes, or reach your brows, they can become overwhelming, and will make your eyes appear smaller. Also fucc mink lashes. Please. No cute furry friends have to d1e just because you want more hair on your eyes.
𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳 ~
You don't need a lot, so apply concealer to your hand, then SOME on the brush and work in layers. Trust me using an applicator puts too much product on your skin and you will have to blend it into areas you normally would use foundation only.
𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘦𝘴 ~
Creating freckles can hide old dark spots, and moles can hide active pimples! But make sure to choose a shade similar to your brow tone and lighter!
𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 ~
Find the right undertone! I used to look grey or orange before I figured out that I am a yellow undertone with a green tint, so I only wear warm, golden and neutral foundations.
𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳 ~
If a highligher leaves a white/grey cast on your skin, it's not the highlighter for you.
𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘶𝘳 ~
No one on this app gets this shite right, but contour is not suppose to be 5 shades darker than you. That is hard to blend and will look muddy in the end, + you will need lots of foundation and concealer to balance it out. Try your foundation shade, but 1-2 shades darker and a cool undertone. Trust me, works like a charm!
𝘚𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘥𝘦𝘳 ~
The finer the powder the better! No need to cake it on or bake, a sheer layer does enough, and it won't end up looking cakey.
𝘓𝘪𝘱𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬 ~
Whatever you want to use, consider your skins undertone! If lipstick looks grey or cold on you it's too cold of a tone. Also it helps to take black and white images of lipstick swatches on your hand if you are in the store, so you can see which shade is actually lighter or darker than you. A good nude shade has your undertone and is tyically as light as you, or a bit darker
if this was helpful drop a ❤️ pls!!
