It never ceases to amaze me how strong farm and ranch guys are. "Farm Boy strong" is not a myth!

Your videos are such a relief from the awful condition of our world. Thank you for sharing your family, including your bison, with use.

Well I know the commercials really bug a lot of people, but this helps dusty get revenue for his bison business so I don't mind looking at the commercials !

Don't be to upset with yourself, you and Marissa are learning and have made some progress in decreasing the size of your herd. Just one step at a time. You take extremely good care of your bison and are a good steward to them and the land.

Okay so on the 80 acres there saying you should not have more than seven bison wow you need a lot more land and happy belated birthday Brooks I hope you had a wonderful day Eleanor looks so good

Too many bison? Not enough land? Sounds like you're working the problem, and for that you should be commended. I love your team projects, because watching you ranchers working together to tend the animals and the land brings home that no one exists in a bubble. You form a community, share labor and equipment, and become a solid force for better land management.

It never gets old seeing these videos & Dusty is quite the storyteller. He explains in such a way even a city boy like me can understand. I saw the disappointment in his face when telling us Cole suggested his herd being too large not in what Cole said but realizing it might hurt the Bison not having enough grazing. You can tell just how he feels about his animals. It’s great seeing the volunteers helping in this prescribed burn. 🔥 Thanks again Dusty, Marissa & Brook for another awesome video. Happy Birthday Brook. 🎂🎊🎈

Here’s an eye opener: On March 4, 1989, a racing buffalo named Harvey Wallbanger made his first appearance in California at Golden Gate Fields.
Owned, trained, and ridden by T.C. Thorstenson, Harvey Wallbanger raced against a quarter horse named Two Eyed Burt, ridden by "Cowboy" Jack Kaenel. In an exciting 110-yard sprint down the stretch, the powerful buffalo edged out his competitor by half a length.
The 8-year-old, 2, 000-pound buffalo clocked an impressive time of 9.4 seconds, securing his 21st win in 26 races. (GGF file photo)

Five years old!
Gosh, I remember turning five on my Daddy's farm. My birthday is in the summer, when farm life is very busy.
Fancy birthday cakes didn't happen much back then, but five is special. During those olden times, five was the age all the kids had to be to start school. My Mom made a cake that looked like a castle. For towers, she covered pointy ice cream cones with frosting, and rolled them in glitter-sugar. She made a drawbridge with a Hershey chocolate bar. She used mini marshmallows and hard candies to decorate the rest.
I'm in my sixties now, but I still remember how excited I was, seeing my mom build this cake to look like the picture in her cookbook!
Having a childhood in the country, where your family owns the land, and everyone works to make things live, there is just no better life!
Brooks is a lucky little girl.

I love these videos.

Happy birthday, young lady. 🎂🏰

This video was very interesting. I love learning about your ranch and the bison. I also love how you’re restoring native plants and grasses.

Very cool! I appreciate that you share this stuff with us and you take the time to explain it all. I'm familiar with cattle, killing those nasty cedars, and prescribed burns. What I know next to nothing about, though, is the stuff that is uniquely bison, and I appreciate watching as you learn and educate us. Thanks!
